Philippines: Barangay Dayhagan | February 27
Woke up at 5:40 again. It was the perfect time where there were so many different colors in the sky and ocean- pinks, purples, oranges, blues. It was so beautiful. We went for a little walk and found many cool shells and capiz. Amy has some creative plans for those brewing.
So far we have had 5,545 people attend our crusades, 5,132 people give their lives to Jesus, 258 people came back the next day to receive a full Bible in their language, 22 new Bible study groups form, and 1 new church is committed to be planted, with many more churches in the planning stage! We have passed out 3,929 Books of Hope and led nearly every one of those schoolchildren to a decision for Jesus. 626 people reported that they were healed in prayer, and over 5,000 people have been touched personally by one of us, looked in the eye, and prayed for personally. Is that awesome or what?!
After going over these stats we spent some time talking with Marcy about volunteer groups. It’s been really wonderful to talk face to face about Paul and Marcy’s hopes, needs, struggles, and victories. I feel so honored to be able to step alongside them in their fight, even if it’s just for a week or two. They have accomplished some truly amazing things, and I believe the best is yet to come.
That afternoon we left for the crusade in barangay Dayahagon, a small seaside fishing village of about 1,000 people. In Dayahagon we met Pastor Ben. He told us that there was a problem with witchcraft and trafficking in the area, but he was committed to seeing revival and planting a small church in town. With him, we walked around inviting people to the healing concert. We even passed by Ben’s house at one point. Nearly all the homes in this area are built out of bamboo slats- his was no different.
Back at the plaza, the concert was going on. Amy played the princess in the drama, and I was the crippled guy- it was hilarious. Sarah gave her testimony and Marcy preached the message on Blind Bartemaus. So many people responded to the altar call! They were coming in from all over. In just Marcy’s line for prayer there were at least forty people. I had one older lady for prayer, she told me that she had a toothache, chest issues, breathing difficulty, and that sometimes she just loses her mind and goes crazy…. Wait, what?? So we prayed for healing, and against any sort of demonic issue that could be going on. Nothing crazy happened, but she left looking very happy! Not a bad last day.
