God With Us: Part Three

God With Us: Part Three

Speaker: Pastor Lee Cummings
Date: December 14, 2019

God With Us is a sermon series focused on the monumental, history-changing event that took place when Jesus Christ was born.

In week three of God With Us, Pastor Lee Cummings preaches on Jesus being the light in our darkness and what it really means when He calls Himself the light of the world.

Focus Scriptures

Isaiah 9:2, 6-7 (ESV)

"2 The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone. 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this."

John 1:4-5, 9-12 (ESV)

"4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,"
