Guadalajara: Day 6 | September 25

Today we made at least 180 balloon animals! We used the drive time on the way to the school to fill them up and we all went to work creating as many swords, crosses, and dogs as we could. We gave them all away to the kids and they were so excited!

We used the balloon animals to share the story of creation with the kids, and we used the evangecube to show the kids how sin separated God’s creation from Him, but that Jesus came to make a way for us to become friends with Him again. Nearly 150 kids in the school prayed to receive Christ as savior when we were done!

After passing out the balloon animals and playing swords with the kids, we went back to work on painting. We got as much done as we could— a total of 3 classrooms painted in addition to the railing and classroom doors on the second floor. We were done by early afternoon!

We cleaned up at the hotel in just enough time to get out the door to visit another small group from Iglesia Radiante. They served us more food than we could ever eat, and we plastered on the bug spray because we were headed outdoors. As the sun went down, we worshipped together, and 3 members of our team shared testimonies— stories of freedom that Jesus had worked in their lives from rejection and shame and unforgiveness. We found out later that just last week their small group had begun to talk about the power of their testimonies! It meant so much to be able to pray with them, and we felt so blessed to be there.
