Guadalajara: Day 8 | September 27

In the morning we packed up and made it quickly and smoothly through the airport. Customs in Atlanta had no line at all, and our connecting flight departed almost on time! There were thunderstorms in Grand Rapids that caused our flight to get in a bit later than expected, but even though we spent 2.5 hours sitting on the plane with no beverage or snack service, we had a good flight. It turned out to be a real blessing that Tim bought that box of Duncan Donuts right before we got on the plane! The box crowd surfed its way to hungry passengers in the rows behind us right before take off and left smiling faces in its wake.

It’s a little odd being back in the USA. People speak English, the bathroom stalls are expansive, no one greets you with a kiss on the cheek, and everyone seems to be in a bit of a rush.

We are glad to be home, but there are things that we experienced and learned over the last week that we still carry with us. We are home again, but we are not quite the same as when we left. It’s a sweet thing to leave home to bless others and return feeling so very and truly blessed!
