Alongside is a professional counseling ministry dedicated to helping Christian pastors, missionaries, leaders, and their families grow in personal wholeness, healthy relationships, and ministry effectiveness. Through retreats that offer professional counseling, teaching, and community, Alongside fosters restoration for those who have found themselves in difficult circumstances, and growth and renewal of mind, body, and soul. They envision spiritually and emotionally healthy Christian leaders equipped to foster healthy Christ-followers.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
MAINTENANCE
OUTDOOR
MOWING
Alongside has a large property with a lot of open space that needs mowing some areas twice weekly, some once a week, and other areas only when instructed.
Requirement: The ability to drive mower. This may take up an afternoon, as it takes multiple hours to mow their lawns.
GARDENING
With so many gardens, it is difficult to maintain them all. This opportunity is simply weeding out the gardens or just spraying the areas regularly.
Note: This may be a good option to volunteer with the whole family.
TRAIL MAINTENANCE
There are many trails at Alongside has on its property requires some regular maintenance so that guests can walk or run during their stay.
CLEANING BUILDING EXTERIOR
Periodic window cleaning, power washing, cleaning patio furniture, and general maintenance.
Requirement: Must be able to operate the appropriate equipment.
WOOD CUTTING
Alongside has a fireplace that they use some of the wood for, also, they have many deadfall trees that need to be cut into firewood.
MAINTAINING WOODED AREAS
As they have recently expanded their property, Alongside needs assistance getting it into shape using brush cutters, chainsaws, and other tools for this.
Requirements: must be able to operate appropriate tools as well as be 14 or older (with parental consent)
SPRING WORKDAY
A spring workday will include mulching, planting flowers, general clean up from winter.
FALL CLEANUP
This involves clearing plant beds, leaf clean up around the property.
SNOW REMOVAL
In the winter they need help with snow plowing and shoveling.
Requirements: To be able to bend and lift snow shovels, and/or operate a plow
INDOOR
CLOSING AND STOCKING SUITES
Once a program end, a suite needs to be closed properly and then prepared for the next guests.
BED MAKING
After a program finishes the beds need to be made for the next families that come.
LAUNDRY
There are many sheets, towels, etc that need to be laundered between programs.
CLEANING
Suites and the ministry rooms need to be cleaned in between programs so that they are prepared for the guests.
SKILLED TRADES
Requirement:
Must be able to operate the appropriate equipment for each job and have the knowledge and skill to complete it.
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
Some of the tractors and other yard equipment need occasional work and repairs performed.
VEHICLE MAINTENANCE
Vehicles on the property need occasional work done or whenever repairs are needed.
BUILDING MAINTENANCE
Some handyman repairs around the property as well as assistance on occasional construction projects
